Spring has arrived here in the “Land of Enchantment” and you can see all the colors of the rainbow around every corner. What you see in bloom will depend on what part of the state you live in.
Gorgeous roses are popping out all over the state. The unmistakable beauty and fragrances are coming into their full glory right now.
Red Tip Photinia are showing off their brilliant red new foliage while some have white flower bouquets in flower. Spireas are looking good.
Lavenders are presenting with beautiful and fragrant purple spikes.
Perennials are gorgeous in our New Mexico flower beds and landscapes.We are seeing Red Valerian (Jupiter’s Beard) blooming in red, white, and pink. Mexican Evening Primrose is blooming in a pretty pink. Dianthus is flowering in all colors. Cherry Sage is everywhere. We are also seeing Shasta Daisy, Yarrow, Penstemons, Catmint and many Salvias.
Experience the wonderful summer flowering annuals such as Million Bells Petunias, Marigolds, Impatiens, Zinnias, Gazania, Portulaca, Lantana, Begonia, Salvia, Geraniums, Dianthus, Dahlias, Alyssum, Lobelia and Verbena and so many more.
Spanish Broom are starting to bloom in masses of yellow pea-like flowers and are wonderfully fragrant. Desert Bird of Paradise are in their full glory right now with their yellow and red exotic-looking flowers. We are seeing the yuccas and Agave blooming with glorious tall shoots of flowering clusters. Hedgehog and Claret Cup cactus are blooming now. The succulent ice plant will be following soon.
The Trumpet Vines are showing up with their radiant blossoms of reddish orange or yellow.
Honeysuckles are starting to bloom with their thin fragrant tubular flowers in whites, yellows and pinks.
